"Do You Know Anything of the Commissionaire?" [NAVA]

If you haven't yet had the opportunity to read up on the history of the Baker Street Irregulars, you're missing out. It's a fascinating series of reads - you're not only treated to larger-than-life personalities, but a glimpse into the history of Sherlock Holmes societies around the country, New York of the 1930s and 1940s, and the challenges in keeping such an interest alive in times that were economically and martially uncertain.

You can pick up a copy of the Nos. 4 & 5 in the BSI Archival Series at the BSJ website. Previous volumes are out of print, but you can occasionally pick them up on eBay or from rare book dealers on Amazon.

The BSI Archival series continues, and there's always need for information, should you come across it. In fact, we noticed a request that was posted on the HOUNDS-L listserv by Leslie Klinger, BSI ("The Abbey Grange"):
